These are fun times for Black Clover Mobile (a.k.a. Black Clover M) players; multiple new Seasons are coming this new year, with a bunch of new mages joining the fray throughout the next twelve months!

Although the Black Clover Mobile competitive meta will undoubtedly change periodically as new content gets introduced, staying true to the current times is still as important, so here’s a quick Season 2 tier list recommending which heroes you need to build your team comps around.

Assembling The Most Powerful Mages

In Black Clover Mobile, magic is prevalent, and nearly everyone has the innate ability to control Mana, asserting different levels of masteries encompassing various elements.

Those who are exceptionally proficient with their prowess are formally classified as mages, with many possessing unique grimoires (spellbooks) relevant to their abilities.

In Black Clover Mobile, everything revolves around combat, so teams with the most effective party link-ups and formidable magic wielders stand significantly higher chances of winning engagements.

Taking cues from our previous character tier list, we’ve summed up all the heroes you should be looking at in Season 2. Let’s see how everyone fares this time around.

Season 2 welcomes a few new characters – primarily alternate versions of existing ones – into Black Clover Mobile‘s roster. These are:

  • (Swimsuit) Asta
  • (Swimsuit) Charmy
  • (Swimsuit) Gauche
  • (Swimsuit) Noelle

They offer different roles, elemental magic, and effectiveness compared to their normal variants, apart from their distinct aesthetics.

Plus, just like any gacha game, it’s a way for you to collect your favorite waifu in (Swimsuit) Noelle (poor Charmy), or husbandos in (Swimsuit) Gauche and (Swimsuit) Asta.

Alongside these additions, the usual update changes have also been implemented from time to time, changing certain mages’ stats or abilities to maintain the meta’s balance. With all these out of the way, here is what Season 2’s tier list looks like:

S-Tier (Godlike)

S-tier mages are dominant forces in both PvE and PvP, which explains why many (if not all) of them are ranked SSR in-game. Here are the selected heroes you should prize over others in Black Clover Mobile:

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Technique (Blue)

The Clover Kingdom’s 28th Wizard King is among the newest faces in Black Clover Mobile, and his supreme authority is justifiably matched by his outrageous magic capabilities.

His skills are unbelievable; he can make Stamina switcheroos, completely suspend opponents’ Skill 2 (S2), Stun an enemy, gain stacks of Increased Damage and Special Skill (SS) Damage, and even a one-time revive after being knocked out!

Yami Sukehiro

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Power (Red)

The intimidating Captain of the Black Bulls, Yami Sukehiro, is as frightening as the game’s most powerful characters come. He unleashes unstoppable attacks that can either Bleed or Stun, all while benefitting from Increased Damage and Crits.

His kit makes him extremely easy to gear, resulting in him being even scarier because of his direct and simple mechanics!

(Clover Academy) Asta

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Power (Red)

Following the footsteps of his Black Bulls Captain, Yami, (Clover Academy) Asta is now a wiser and more mature brawler. Despite his immediate lack of magic, his grueling training and never-give-up attitude pay off by way of his multiple stackable Increased Damage buffs and Extra Attack turns.

Charlotte Roselei

Grade: SSR
Class: Debuffer
Type: Power (Red)

Captain of the Blue Rose Knights, Charlotte Roselei’s cold stare and harsh demeanor remind you that she’s a highly-respected noblewoman whose talents can only be rivaled by a select few.

In Black Clover Mobile, she specializes in applying Marks on enemies, making them more susceptible to her attacks while also significantly weakening their Defense and Attack.

(Swimsuit) Charmy

Grade: SSR
Class: Healer
Type: Technique (Blue)

Don’t let the special (Swimsuit) Charmy’s cute and vulnerable appearance fool you; she’s an invaluable team healer who comes clutch in saving everyone against the most punishing attacks.

She has multiple Continuous HP Recovery skills to use, all of which work on top of each other, and a few even restore Skill Points (SP) for allies to use their devastating moves more frequently!

Fuegoleon Vermillion

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Sense (Green)

Fuegoleon Vermillion is the Captain of the Crimson Lion, and he’s known to be their most trusted and capable leader. In-game, his fighting style focuses on stacking Burn effects onto foes, all of which empower his Damage exponentially!

Licht

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Sense (Green)

Licht – Leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun – should be considered one of the most fearsome mages in the game due to his role in both the manga and anime, and it’s great to know he’s been realized properly in Black Clover Mobile.

He demolishes enemies thanks to his cumulative Crit Rate buffs, and he even becomes immortal for a short time when he is close to being knocked out!

Lotus Whomalt

Grade: SSR
Class: Debuffer
Type: Technique (Blue)

Chill yet cunning, Lotus Whomalt is a sophisticated strategist whose kit is a mix of various debilitating effects capable of dissecting even the sturdiest team comps.

With him on your side, you have access to debuffs like Decrease Stamina, reducing Damage Resistance, Speed Reduction, Extend Debuff Duration, and even the dreaded Remove All Buffs effect!

(Clover Academy) Mimosa Vermillion

Grade: SSR
Class: Healer
Type: Sense (Green)

(Clover Academy) Mimosa Vermillion is probably the most popular Healer in the game, not just for her looks, but also her glorious abilities of instantaneous group heals, party-wide Defense boost, and the most incredible one so far: resurrecting fallen allies during battles!

Her S1 can even generate SP to a hurt teammate, letting them use their special moves quicker to counter-attack.

(Swimsuit) Noelle

(Swimsuit) Noelle Silva in Black Clover Mobile.

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Power (Red)

While the standard Noelle is a Healer, the unique (Swimsuit) Noelle is a full-on bruiser now! Her profile is all about creating barriers around herself and allies, upon which her Magic Attacks are then amplified, making her even stronger.

Rhya

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Sense (Green)

Another notable member of the Eye of the Midnight Sun is Rhya who is a complex fighter to deal with. Whenever he is buffed, he gains extra attacks per turn depending on the skill used, enjoying Increased Damage too.

When in need of quick buffs, he can instantly copy two buffs from an enemy as well, besides a quick heal when a buff expires! Would be great if you have him on your team, right?

Rill Boismortier

Grade: SSR
Class: Debuffer
Type: Sense (Green)

Captain of the Aqua Deer, Rill Boismortier is a splendid party member who can strip enemies from their buffs before weakening their Defense or Incapacitating them entirely.

His S2 refreshes pretty quickly too, so he can consistently break foes’ Defenses while friendlies take advantage of the turmoil!

Vetto

Vetto in Black Clover Mobile.

Photo: Garena International II

Grade: SSR
Class: Defender
Type: Power (Red)

Vetto is a literal beast that enjoys bloodlust, and his abilities in Black Clover Mobile directly align with this. Already quite durable and tough, Vetto is even harder to take down thanks to his Lifesteal attributes brought forth by his skills.

Similar to Yami, Vetto is convenient to gear because of his straightforward play style.

William Vangeance

Grade: SSR
Class: Supporter
Type: Technique (Blue)

William Vangeance, Captain of the Golden Dawn, is quite an intriguing character to use in-game. His abilities are varied, spanning from Transforming foes to render them useless, to Fortifying allies for better survivability.

Other impressive effects include granting high-level Increased Damage and Speed buffs, so William fits into almost any team if you’re not picky about any particular strategy just yet.

A-Tier (Strong)

Mages classified under A-tier are no slouch whatsoever; they can help you trample other noteworthy team synergies if your strategies and builds are even slightly superior. These characters are:

(Swimsuit) Asta in Black Clover Mobile.

Photo: Garena International II

Grade: SSR
Class: Defender
Type: Power (Red)

(Swimsuit) Asta is a universally great addition to any team in Black Clover Mobile. As a Defender, he has varying high chances of Taunting enemies using his SS, with each successful one improving his Defense as a result (passive).

Still, his Unique Passive of applying Status Immunity (1 turn) at the start of a battle is probably his most incredible benefit, but in turn, it’s excruciatingly hard to unlock.

Fana

Fana in Black Clover Mobile.

Photo: Garena International II

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Technique (Blue)

Fana’s fiery attacks are scary; every basic attack has a high probability of Burning her foes, stacking up to three times. While this doesn’t sound too much, her S2 actually steals some HP from those afflicted with Burns, granting her longevity to continue her assaults.

If that wasn’t enough, her SS increases both her Attack and Magic Attack, making her an absolute nuke when partnered with the ideal Supporters.

(Swimsuit) Gauche Adlai

(Swimsuit) Gauche in Black Clover Mobile.

Grade: SSR
Class: Supporter
Type: Technique (Blue)

(Swimsuit) Gauche is amazing for both PvP and PvE because his kit includes tons of buffs to help your team win in almost any engagement. You’re looking at multiple Attack and Damage boosts, bolstered Crit Rate, defensive boons like Fortify and Damage-over-Time (DoT) Immunity, and more!

Jack the Ripper

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Technique (Blue)

His name alone is already indicative of what kind of ‘monster’ the Captain of the Green Mantis is; Jack the Ripper’s fighting style revolves around cleaving through enemies’ Defense and HP. His abilities enhance his Damage Penetration, Crit Rate, and Crit Damage, among other effects, like inflicting Bleed stacks.

Plus, as long as an enemy suffers even one debuff, he enjoys even more Damage increases against them!

Kahono

Photo: Garena International II

Grade: SSR
Class: Healer
Type: Technique (Blue)

For anyone looking for a promising party-wide healer, Kahono is one of the few fantastic ones in the game. In just a few turns, she can quickly set up strong HP-restoring effects to every ally during battle, notwithstanding Attack and Defense bonuses as well.

Oh, and her S2 creates Barriers!

Kiato

Kiato in Black Clover Mobile.

Photo: Garena International II

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Technique (Blue)

During battles, Kiato isn’t too formidable right off the bat. However, he becomes immensely effective whenever he receives buffs from allies, his skills benefitting from Increased Damage, Increased Crit, and Increased Accuracy.

For dedicated players, Kiato is worth developing for his Unique Passive, introducing his exclusive Exciting Dance effect that enhances his survivability for every buff he gets in a prolonged fight. Indeed, a properly built Kiato in a synergized lineup is a scary one.

Leopold Vermillion

Grade: SSR
Class: Attacker
Type: Power (Red)

Fuegoleon’s younger brother, Leopold Vermillion is a fearsome Fire-based mage who excels in sustained battles thanks to his Lifesteal skills and Burn debuff. In fact, his attacks become fiercer if his enemies are Burned, meaning he jives well with others who can Burn foes as well.

His gimmick is simple yet works for all levels of play, including the end-game and competitive PvP.

Mars

Grade: SSR
Class: Defender
Type: Technique (Blue)

One of the Diamond Kingdom’s most promising mages, Mars has a high chance to Taunt enemies via his S1, keeping the heat off of your more hard-hitting heroes. His Passive and SS also make him bulkier, so he’s quite the tank to have on a team, besides his S2’s Stun and Reduced Defense probability.

Unlocking his Unique Passive can also be a crucial combat element, where everyone receives a Debuff Immunity at the start of a battle.

Nozel Silva

Photo: Garena International II

Grade: SSR
Class: Debuffer
Type: Technique (Blue)

Nozel Silva is the Captain of the Silver Eagle, and his combat proficiencies warrant his esteemed standing. In-game, his S1 can easily Poison a target, besides his other abilities either drastically weakening Magic Attack or Damage.

Both his Combined Attack and United Attack (paired with Fuegoleon) are very intimidating too, having a high chance to Buff Block and either remove 2 SPs or apply Incapacitate instead.

Rades Spirito

Rades Spirito in Black Clover Mobile.

Photo: Garena International II

Grade: SSR
Class: Defender
Type: Sense (Green)

A prominent member of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, Rades Spirito specializes in bolstering a team’s overall survivability, with his SS offering the best bonuses in his kit: a Barrier to each ally, granting Debuff Immunity, and a chance for Increased Endurance.

His other abilities can prove useful at times too, such as his S2’s Increased Defense, or his Combined Attack’s Taunt, so it mainly depends on how you want to use and build him for different scenarios.

B-Tier (Respectable)

While they might not be as intimidating nor as effective as the mages already chosen above, B-tier individuals serve specific roles in niche team comps or potential counter-plays. Combative spellcasters in this category are:

The least-picked mages who are easily forgotten upon leaving the early game are those falling under the C-tier.

Although they serve their purpose to help you breeze through the introduction and beginning stages, their uses are simply replaced by others who perform definitively better in many regards. These characters are:
